Daily decisions guarantee tomorrow’s success

The excitement of the recent Olympics made many of us wish we could be a gold medal winning superstar. Of course, what we saw was the culmination of years of sacrifice, discipline, sweat and pain. We didn’t see the 5 a.m. practices, sore muscles, monotonous repetition, strict diets or missed social events. The foundation of the athletes’ success was based on purposeful daily actions made over the course of time.

We have to remember this principle for our lives as well. Our success will not be from opportunities or luck but rather intentional daily decisions. Greatness is not a matter of circumstance but of consistent deliberate choices.

We won’t drift into success. We can’t just wait for it, hoping that someday it will happen. We often know what we should do but tend to lack the consistent follow through. It’s been said that the greatest gap in life is between knowing and doing. We are also inclined to follow our feelings instead of our decisions. These strategies only lead to disappointment not success.

The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda. Change your life by changing something you do regularly. Greatness is the result of conscious purposeful choices made day after day.

“Successful people make right decisions and manage those decisions daily.” –John Maxwell
